Very Ticked Off – How About You?

I don’t know about all of you guys, but I am so sick and tired of hearing about single mothers! What about us single fathers. Don’t we have to cook, clean, do the laundry, shop, buy products for our homes, create a home for our kids, work full time, etc. etc. just the same as a single mother??? I mean, does society really think that women are the only people in society that can do all of that and that men are just incapable of doing any domestic duties? Are we really portrayed as non-domesticated and not having a nurturing bone in our body? I have noticed, and believe me I am ticked off about this, that commercials are geared toward single mothers. I haven’t noticed a single father in commercials handling the household, etc. Movies, magazine ads, radio spots, etc. are geared for single mothers. And, the biggest tick me offs are the candidates, the news and other politicians. I haven’t heard anything about single fathers in the candidate’s speeches, except for Biden saying that he raised his kids and was a single father. That is great, but has he actually said anything about helping single fathers in our countries crisis? No, just to help the poor single mothers. All candidates have talked about how is the single mother going to afford gas, food, and rent? How is a single mother going to survive in our economy? If elected, they will change everything for the single mother!! Hello, what about single fathers? Don’t we face the same problems? How are we going to pay for food, gas, rent too? How are we going to work full time and how are we going to pay for daycare, or if you don’t have custody of your kids, how are we going to pay for the rising costs of everything and the staggering amount of money in child support? The news channels are all talking about the poor single mothers. I haven’t heard anything about single fathers at all. I am so ticked off by all of this. It really makes me scream!! What about all of you? Do you all feel the same way as I do? Have you noticed that politicians, the news media, society, magazines, commercials, etc. are all geared to single mothers and not us? Let me know how you feel, let me know if you are mad and ticked off like I am about all of this!! Anyone have any ideas on how we can change this perception about us? How can we all get together on this, band together and change society’s views? I don’t know about you, but I feel very discriminated against, isn’t there laws about this? – Very ticked off and wanting to change the way single fathers are viewed, Bob
